Many Subjects are known by more than one name or may be commonly misspelled. For example, searching for "Jean-Luc Picard" would obviously find the Jean-Luc Picard Subject, but that search wouldn't find return any results if the Subject was called "Captain Picard" instead. Someone might also search "Jeanluc Picard," which wouldn't find the Jean-Luc Picard Subject either.

To solve those issues we have a field called Alternative Spellings (formerly "Additional Keywords"). We can add "Captain Picard" and "Jeanluc Picard" as Alternative Spellings and either of those searches will find the Jean-Luc Picard Subject.

Note: The hobbyDB search ignores dashes and other special characters, making "Jean-Luc" equivalent to "Jean Luc" for the purpose of searching, so there would be no need to add "Jean Luc" as an Alternative Spelling.

Alternative Spellings can also be used for abbreviations, so add RAC to the Subject for the Royal Automobile Club (or if the abbreviation is more commonly used than the full name, add the words to the abbreviation, for example "National Entertainment Collectibles Association" as an Alternative Spelling for the NECA Subject).

Do not add general keywords to the Alternative Spellings field.
